Printed letterpress on 170gsm Fedrigoni Arena Rough by Phil Abel and Robert Hetherington of Hand and Eye Letterpress. Printed in black with several yellow spots throughout on a Heidelberg cylinder press using photopolymer plates.
This edition is newly and lavishly illustrated by world renowned artist, Gary Gianni. There are 10 full-page colour paintings, plus 14 full-page black ink line drawings. Many of these images are spread across two pages and there are also multiple half-page and spot black and whites around or embedded in the text. All colour images are printed offset litho by Hurtwood Press and sewn into the structure of the binding. All black and white images are letterpress printed to the page.
The Numbered edition is bound as a bradel binding, with navy goatskin leather spine and double panelled front and back boards covered in two tone Dubletta and gold buckram cloths. Each cover is foil blocked in six passes.
Endpapers are hand marbled by Freya Scott of Paperwilds.
The top edge of the book block is hand gilded in gold.
The book comes in a straight edged, hand marbled cloth capped slipcase. The box is wrapped with two tone Dubletta cloth, with the front board foil blocked with a Gary Gianni alchemist design and sunburst. The inside of the slipcase is lined with navy blue Suedel.
Please be aware that there may be minor alterations to the design as we enter the production stage.
This edition is limited to 200 copies. The first 150 copies, numbered 1 – 150, will be first offered privately to current Lyra’s Press rights holders (those who are the registered Numbered edition rights holders of Coraline).
Rights holders will be contacted on Wednesday 30th October and will have until Sunday 3rd of November to make their purchase. Any copies not taken up by current rights holders, as well as the remaining 50 copies (numbered 151 – 200) will be available by lottery ONLY.
The lottery form will be open on this page from Monday 4th November at 12pm GMT until Wednesday 6th November at 12pm GMT. Winners will be notified by email and sent a payment link on Thursday 7th of November. The option to purchase will be in place for 48 hours from the timestamp of the notification email, after which any non-purchased copies will be offered to someone else.
There is a ‘one entry per household’ rule in place for the lottery for this edition. We ask that you please respect this rule so that everyone has a fair and equal chance. If we find multiple entries, they will be deleted and you will be banned from the lottery for this edition.
If we fail to sell all copies through the lottery, these copies will become available on the website shortly afterwards and you will be able to purchase directly through the shop page. All purchase limits will then be removed.
You may also enter the lotteries for the other editions.
Click here to see our rules around the lotteries on our FAQ page.
Only copies numbered 1 – 150 carry rights to the next Lyra’s Press title. Copies numbered 151 – 200 do not carry rights to the next title. If you are successful in the lottery, you will be notified as to whether your copy carries rights or not, before you make your purchase.
Read more about how the rights system works here.
Anyone who purchases a Lettered and/or Numbered edition will be given the opportunity to purchase one copy of the Standard edition at the time of purchase. You may choose between Ochre or Gold. One copy per household. Please see the Standard edition shop page for more information on this edition.

The cost of shipping is £25 in the UK and £55 for the rest of the world. The shipping cost is based on custom made boxes with foam, packing and booking time as well as the cost of the courier service.
All books will be packed into custom made, double walled cartons and surrounded by thick foam on six sides to ensure safe delivery.
Deliveries within the UK will be sent via a 48 hour courier. Delivery times elsewhere in the world will vary depending on your location, but we would hope that the books will largely be delivered within a few days at most. All services will be fully trackable and you will be sent a confirmation of shipping along with a tracking number when your parcel is booked with the courier. If you have a preferred courier service then do let us know and we will try our best to use them if they are available.
All international deliveries, including to the EU, now have full customs declarations. Any import taxes, customs duties or fees must be paid for by the recipient. Customs policies vary from country to country and you should contact your local customs office for more information. Customs clearance procedures may cause delays and extend our quoted delivery time estimates, for which we cannot be liable.
Please note – we cannot deliver to PO Box addresses.
We expect to have the books finished and ready to ship late summer 2025.
